Enterprises delay deployment
of Outlook Web Access
due to attachment security concerns.
Ottawa, Canada, Corel Centre , OCRI Technology Show,
Booth H7, March 31, 2005 – Everywhere Networks Corporation,
an innovative, everywhere access solutions company, today
announced the general availability of SecureView for OWA Enterprise
3.0 designed to tackle vulnerabilities of MS Outlook Web Access
2003 (OWA -MS Web email).
Users can now view & securely access OWA
attachments, leaving no traces of them behind when using
non-trusted and public kiosk systems.
The issue here is users unknowingly leaving behind sensitive
corporate documents on non-secure pubic workstations and having
them fall into the wrong hands. When using OWA the seemingly
harmless process of opening attachments causes them to download
and store in the browsers cache. Even if the session is ended
the cache still contains the entire document and is easily
accessed by anyone. SecureView for OWA Enterprise 3.0 provides
the ability to view documents and prevent them from being
cached or downloaded.
Bryon Bertrim, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for
Everywhere Networks Corporation, explains, “This issue
is holding up plans for OWA 2003 deployment in some of the
largest global organizations - many of which are counting
on rolling OWA out to every employee in the company and are
waiting for us to deliver.” He adds, “Companies
have been buying on the strength of our Beta release”.
SecureView for OWA Enterprise 3.0’s unique scalable
design has been proven in the largest global enterprise customers
and as had recent wins with Fortune 100s and a tier 1 mobile
carrier. MS Exchange server has over a 65% market share in
corporate email serving and continues to grow in share. Outlook
Web Access OWA is the web mail client for MS Exchange server.
It allows users to access their mail from any web browser.
